Photo of the Week- "Leap of Faith"

I recently spent several hours watching as this fox spent most of the day sleeping. It was around -15°F to start the morning and while the fox was in the sun, we stood in the shade. After a while, the fox decided to find another sleeping spot so it actually jumped up onto a much higher point where it promptly curled up and went back to sleep again. Most likely using the sun's warmth while sleeping, the fox probably hunted all night when the temperature was colder. Fox are one of my favorite animals, so it was wonderful to have the opportunity to watch this one. The image was taken with a 500mm lens and a 1.4 teleconverter.
