I can't believe this image sat on my computer for two years before I really noticed it! This is from my December 2015 trip to Iceland. The Vesterhorn was one of the locations that inspired the trip. I really wanted to see this location. A marine layer out over the sea prevented the clouds you see here from glowing at sunrise and I think we were all a bit disappointed by that, but the light became nicer later. What I like about this image is the warm light touching the black sand in the foreground, bringing out the textures. The snow covered mountain doesn't hurt either!
